Beschreibung

This is a special piece of equipment and that just how we like it.

Every track needs a first responder vehicle and in Italy they do it in style.
`This beauty was keeping the drivers and spectators at Imola and Monza safe for many years.
For this noble task the car was extensively modified. A full roll cage and professional fire fighter kit was installed together with working emergency lights.
The history of the car predates the date of manufacture. It was predestined to become a CEA first responder in the capable hands of the affectionately named Leonie first responders of the Imola and Monza racetrack.

These brave souls earned their name after their heroic actions during a rescue operation. about which they themselves say the following: "this nickname has been transformed into an indelible mark, we are identified by the Italian Grand Prix of 1978, the year of the disastrous starting fire that took the life of Ronnie Peterson and months of inactivity for Vittorio Brambilla. carambola a few hundred meters after the start, ten cars before entering the chicane, half of which was enveloped by a fire unprecedented in Formula 1. The tragic outcome is the one already reported, but in the news from Monza the next day there was 'There was also room for us who had avoided a massacre.

It would have been worse if we hadn't been there on the sides of the runway and thrown ourselves into that fire, clearing the way for medical help. According to some, a typical angelic gesture; others read, a lion action.

We chose the lion because it best represents our action on the competition fields and since then everyone has known us and referred to us in this way. There is no motoring event in Italy in which we are not involved in a more or less direct way; ours is an industrious presence that, precisely because of this steadfastness, lends its side to the moods of the moment.

This specific Alfa Romeo has been adapted with great care and attention for use as a first responder vehicle.

For example, the car has a full roll cage and the back seat has been removed in favor of a tank for a fire extinguishing systemseveral other adjustments include:

Holders for fire extinguishing equipment.
A specially made box for storing cutting shears and axes.
Installing a quick release boot lid so that first aid could be given immediately.
This Alfa Romeo 156 GTA would be a perfect addition to a collection that focuses on competition cars.

But someone who is looking for a unique piece to visit an event with will not make a bad purchase with this Italian beauty.
