This LHD recreation of a 1959 Ferrari 250 TR is one of five examples commissioned by Alistair Walker and built by Jim Rose specifically for the famous Ferrari works racing driver Innes Ireland. Its body was fabricated by Les Monk and his son. Jim Rose and Les Monk had rebodied 3 of the 330 coupes before this Ferrari was done. The original steelwork was removed and replaced with steel tubing to support the new English bodywork. The brakes, suspension and chassis were restord as new. The idea was to make attractive driveable Ferrari roadsters that looked correct and yet are not fakes or clones of an original Ferrari.
Superb in its detail with the seats trimmed with his own tartan it appears in Innes Irelands book “All Arms and Elbows” (2nd edition) with pictures of him at his wedding to Jean Howeth.
Based on Ferrari 330GT #GT5333 3967cc V12 two cam, six carb, Four speed transmission with overdrive. It is sat breathing through a sexet of Weber carburettors, mated to a four speed gearbox with electrically operated overdrive.
