he Lamborghini Miura P400, introduced in November 1965 and put into
production the following year, was succeeded by the Miura S.
Importantly, the S enjoyed a more rigid chassis which had gradually been
introduced during the P400's production run, with 1mm gauge steel and
further strengthening.

Better driveshafts incorporated CV joints, while larger chokes and
revised cam profiles gave a 20bhp increase in power up to - it was
claimed - 370bhp. Ventilated disc brakes were included as an improvement
during the production run to give adequate 'stop' to match the more than
sufficient 'go'.
The original 1960s Italian Supercar does not come finer than the Miura
and soon became a favourite of the 'jet set' being a regular in Monte
Carlo and St Tropez. UK readers old enough may remember the 'flock fur'
covered car in a tiger pattern of Justin de Villeneuve - the model
'Twiggy's' business manager.
This example, recently restored by a well known specialist, is finished
in a more sedate 'Rosso Dino' (perhaps a tilt at its Maranello rivals),
a red with an orange tint. The inside is black with blue cloth inserts.
Over 170 mph top speed, mid-engined handling and a 0-60mph of 5.7 secs
is going to make the car an unbelievable experience. With only 37,000
miles completed in 33 years and extensive work recently carried out on
it the driving experience really will be like going back to the days of
the first uncompromising supercars.
