The Porsche 991 is the internal designation for the seventh generation of the Porsche 911 sports car, which was unveiled at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show.
The 991 is an entirely new platform, only the third since the original 911 launched in 1963. For the 991 generation, Porsche lengthened the standard 911 2.2 inches and grew the wheelbase by 3.9 inches and offered a seven-speed gearbox.

January 2017 saw the launch of the Carrera GTS which combines comfort with performance. Powered by a 3.0 litre six-cylinder twin turbo engine producing 444 bhp, which propels the car from 0-60mph in just 3.7 secs and onto a top speed of 193 mph.
