Beschreibung

The Alfa Romeo Sprint Zagato (SZ) or Experimental Sportscar 3.0-Litre is a high-performance limited-production sports car built between 1989 and 1991. Debuting at the 1989 Geneva Motor Show, the wedge-shaped design featured muscular proportions and an integrated grille crest flanked by a trio of square headlights. The aggressive-looking two-seater coupé is a brilliant result of a partnership between Zagato, Alfa Romeo and Fiat. Built at Zagato's factory at Terrazzano di Rho, the SZ was a joint project that also involved the styling departments of both Alfa Romeo and its parent company, FIAT, whose Robert Opron was responsible for the initial sketches. Suspension development was overseen by engineer Giorgio Pianta, formerly team manager of the FIAT and Lancia works rallying teams.

Powering the SZ to its highly respectable op speed of 245 kilometers per hour was a 210bhp version of Alfa's superb 3.0-litre four-cam V6 at 60°, widely recognized as one of the finest engines of recent times. This excellent performance was achieved thanks partly to the body's exceptionally low drag coefficient.

The example offered here is number 215 of just 1036 built and represents late 20th-century Italian design at its best. Built at the end of 1990, this example was delivered new to Rome, Italy on the 23th of January 1991. The first owner kept the car 17 years until she was exported to the Netherlands in 2008 at 30.000km. The second owner kept the car 4 years. We are offering the car on behalf of its second Dutch owner who acquired the car in 2012. This car is a joy to drive. She runs and drives very well with excellent gear change, great road holding and handling is quite fast. A well maintained car in good and original condition with only 51.600km recorded on clock.

The car comes with invoices, the original service book, the 'Certificato di Collaudo' and some nice magazine articles. Today this highly individual supercar is much sought after. Great opportunity to acquire a low mileage ultra-rare Zagato-Built Alfa Romeo with only 3 owners since new.

Price is euro 67.500,-.
